BACKGROUND: GatherOver was born out of a need for connection, dialogue, and a sense of community in an ever-changing, highly charged world. It also seeks to support and raise awareness of artists and makers within these communities.
Each salon gathering brings together a diverse group to discuss a range of perspectives on a single topic, allowing everyone to share their voice and appreciate the value of others. Artists and makers contribute works and meals designed to spark conversation, while the event’s atmosphere and location offer an intimate setting that encourages deep dialogue and meaningful connections.
TIMELINE: 8 weeks
BUSINESS GOALS: To create a relaxed, salon-style event that fosters conversation, personal connections, and “aha” moments through delicious food, thoughtful art, and intimate spaces.
SOLUTION: We selected an evocative topic and a welcoming homestead in the heart of Atlanta, hosting two dozen guests and local artists with live music, great food, and curated discussions. Artists mingled with guests during a cocktail hour sponsored by a local wine shop and a small-batch kombucha brewery. Artworks were displayed throughout the venue, and many of the artists’ handmade goods were used to serve the meal or facilitate conversation. A local, up-and-coming chef drew inspiration from the evening’s theme to create a menu featuring ingredients from local farms and his own cheese cave.
IMPACT: The event sold out in less than two weeks. Guests enjoyed four hours of meaningful conversation and community connections that extended well beyond the event itself. Artists sold several works during and after the event, providing an extra revenue stream and new patrons.
